Education: lectures and student advising in Graduate School of Science (Department of Geophysics or Department of Earth Science) |
| Qualification Requirements | The applicant should have a doctoral degree (or Ph. D.) in a related discipline, and attained highly evaluated scientific findings. A doctoral degree from a university outside Japan is preferable. Relevant experience for more than two years as a researcher at a university or a research institute outside of Japan is also preferable. Applications at the full professor level require a well-established research program with a record of external funding. |

| Term of Employment | Starting from June 2012 or later, on the following contact basis
Full Professor: 10 years in the first term, extensions are possible, after a review in the institute. Associate Professor: 10 years in the first term, only one extension is possible, after a review in the institute. |
| Salary | Payment will be made in accordance with the University’s rules and regulations. |
